During the summer of 2003, Carolyn worked together with Tony to open Utter Commercial Real Estate, Inc., while continuing her full-time position as Marketing Director at Johnson’s Garden Centers. In the spring of 2008, Carolyn accepted a full time position at Utter Commercial Real Estate.

As a life-long resident of Wichita, Carolyn attended Mt. Carmel Academy, Wichita Southeast High School and graduated Magna Cume Laude in 1987 with a BBA from Wichita State University, majoring in marketing with a minor in advertising. After graduation, Carolyn worked for three years at Harris Advertising before joining Johnson’s Garden Centers as Marketing Director, a position she held for 18 years. During her years at Johnson’s, Carolyn earned her Kansas Certified Nursery Professional designation; co-hosted the locally produced “Johnson’s Garden Time” TV Show; published “Johnson’s Garden Talk” seasonal newsletter, Weekly E-News and served as webmaster.

After Tony passed away in January 2026, Carolyn moved into the role of President of Utter Commercial Real Estate, Inc. Today, Carolyn continues to work closely with Timothy and Christopher to keep the family business up and running. It is our goal to continue Tony's legacy of legendary service to all those looking to buy, sell or lease properties in the Wichita area. Large or small, we are here to serve all.
